Special Fishing Trips

Saltwater Flats Fishing Guide, Islamorada, Florida

Special overnight fishing trips out to the Lake Ingram area. We will be tent camping on the beaches of East or Middle Cape. Expect to see plenty of Bird life, Alligators, and the rare American Crocodile. There are plenty of quiet places to fish that only see anglers once in a great while. Redfish, Snook, and Tarpon are the main source of entertainment. Fishing is done from a small non-motorized Gheenoe that will be paddled and poled into position for that perfect presentation. A good overnight trip will be in the neighborhood of 100 fish caught and released. Most trips average 50 Snook!!!! This fishing is HOT and the weather is comfortable, and due to the season (november-march) the bugs should not be an issue!

Fishing is done with lures and flies.  The lures consist of soft plastic jerk baits, shrimp imitations, baitfish imitations and top water lures.

Rates for these overnight trips start at $1200.00 (1 or 2 anglers). A typical trip starts early on Day 1 about 6am with loading of the Skiff with food, water, a large tent and gas grille, Gheenoe, fishing equipment, and other supplies. Then a 1 - 2 hour boat run to the pre-arranged camping spot. A quick Campsite setup and we will be fishing the No Motor Zones! After your arms are tired, we will head to camp and I will prepare a nice Dinner around the campfire. For any of you that had had the special pleasure of a Fly-in shore lunch way up north in Canada, this is the next best thing! Feel free to fish around the campsite! Then it will be early to bed and early to rise to catch more fish and hopefully wear out your arms AGAIN! After a late lunch it will be time to break camp and head back to the islands, sometimes fishing our way back, plan on being back about 6pm on Day 2. These trips will allow the angler at least 14 hours of fishing, even in the short days of winter!

Some available options may include, multiple days (3 or more), pre-set up camps and/or a real gourmet chef (allows a ton more fishing time), kayaks to self explore around the campsite, or pick up and drop off in Flamingo. Please note that this is a wilderness experience, there are no maids or waiters out there. You will be expected to help out with setting up and breaking down camp, cooking and cleaning. Also, the Gheenoe is a small narrow boat, you should be able to unhook your own fish safely.

What you need to bring: a sleeping bag (+40 degree or so rated), something to sleep on (a inflatable matress, small cot, or etc.), a change of clothes, and other personal items.

Please contact me directly to Inquire about these very special trips!

Overnight and Multiday trips can also be arranged into Whitewater Bay and Hells Bay!

The Gheenoe.

A beach Campsite.

A rare American Crocodile.

Special Anglers, Special Places, Special Fish! Memories to last a LIFETIME!
